Background

Clifford B. Benjamin, CVA founded Summit Business Valuation Associates, LLC with a singular mission: to offer corporations, business owners, attorneys, and CPA's the experience and credentials to value companies based upon valuation theory and practical financial management expertise earned through a thirty year career in managing small, midsize companies and international corporations. Through using innovative financial solutions tailored to the needs of business and individuals, Clifford has proved to be a forward-thinking, energetic, and dynamic deal maker, uniquely talented at building trust and taking organizations to higher levels of performances.

Cliff has managed financial, sales ad marketing functions, for national and international corporations such as:

  • Hearst Magazines, co-publisher of SmartMoney Magazine

  • Forbes Inc, Publisher of Forbes Magazine

  • Goldhirsh Publishing, the creator of Inc Magazine

Cliff has successfully concluded thousands of corporate transactions resulting in hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, which have helped individuals and corporations achieve specific financial, marketing and sales goals.

In the often economically complex field of family law, Cliff has creatively collaborated with clients and members of the legal community in Connecticut, Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.

Education

Cliff Benjamin is graduate of Southern Connecticut State University (B.S. Economics, 1982). He is a CVA (Certified Valuation Analyst), has also successfully completed certification courses at: TN Department of Commerce and Insurance (Life & Health 2003); Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination (Series 63, 2003); General Securities Representative (Series 7, 2003); Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA 2003); General Securities Principal (Series 24, 2008); Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination (Series 65, 2008) Cliff has continued his educational through ongoing continuing professional educational programs offered by various professional groups.

Media, Business and Financial Press Publishing Experience

In 1998, Cliff joined Hearst Magazines as Group Advertising Director. While working on the business, he held responsibilities that included the following magazine brands: Cosmopolitan, Country Living, Esquire, Good Housekeeping Harper's Bazaar, House Beautiful, Marie Claire, O, The Oprah Magazine, Popular Mechanics, Redbook, SmartMoney, Town & Country, Hearst Interactive Media and Hearst Licensed Products. He was responsible for substantially increasing revenue across all magazine brands, introducing innovative marketing programs and for launch of O, The Oprah Magazine.

In 1994, The New York Times Company recruited Cliff to manage its joint publishing venture with IBM, which he later helped facilitate the sale of to Forbes Magazine Group. Upon the successful integration of the New York Times Custom Publishing Division to Forbes Magazine Group, Cliff was promoted to its brand management committee with oversight into the entire company's business activities.

In 1990 Cliff joined Chief Executive Magazine, as Advertising Sales Director while working in business department, he managed the publication's national sales organization. He also served the information and business development needs of CEOs and Presidents of America's and some of the worlds most powerful corporate executives.
